Scared Confused My sodium levels are too low again . This has happend before, and i was told to cut my fluid intake down.
I find this hard . Last time the doc said ,no more than two litres a day. Its not a lot really because if i drink a glass of water with a pill its a lot out of two litres.
I am restricted with my food as i have coeliac . It looks like my fluid intake is aswell.
Normally i enjoy a few cups of tea a day . Never mind there are worse things . My white blood sells are all to pot aswell.
Things can only get better . Sorry for moaning but its nice to tell someone as i dont bother to tell family or friends as they dont think things like that are important.
Has anyone else had low sodium problems. Think it could be caused with the medication . I have mtxi injection 20mg.Plaquinel alendronic acid and adcal.

I've not had this problem myself so can't offer any wisdom. I do hope it resolves soon. Let us know how it goes. best wishes from Naomi.

Hello

My sodium levels are normally low and go very low for me when I am really feeling unwell with the RA.

My blood sugars go all over the shop (I am diabetic because of the long term steroid use) and its all really tied up with the kidneys and systems not working very well.

You need to have a simple wee test and some tests for hypothyroidism if this continues in case there is something else going on.

In my experience I cant wee much when the salts are low and that is an indicator I am about to get poorly with a flair/ infection.

Hope the GP is more helpful this time- my first time said I must be on a low sodium diet or something.

Diarrolite drinky things also helped (but check you can have this)

Hi Kathleen

My mum had low sodium and was admitted to hospital where her fluid intake was seriously restricted as that's the best way to bring the levels up. It really is important to keep an eye on the levels carefully. So persevere with the restricted fluids and hopefully the next blood test will be improved.
